The score almost speaks for itself.  The elder Caldwell got a shutout playoff victory.  Pretty straightforward.  What the score doesn't tell you is how many breakaways Killer had to stop to get that shutout, or that it came with his progeny between the pipes at the other end of the rink!  One for the ages, no doubt.

We had gotten beat down pretty good by the Bullitts in our two regular season matchups, so it was a huge relief when Rocco put one on net from just inside the blue line and it somehow squeaked through young Caldwell to break a scoreless tie late in the 2nd.  We needed something to break the seal, and that was big for us.  Later, with less than 4 minutes to go in the game, Filar got it down to Rocco in the corner, Rocco cut back behind the net and sent a perfect pass to Danny V in the slot, and Dan buried the one-timer, much to Conner's satisfaction.

Great start to the playoffs for the underdogs, with all three taking all three points in their respective games last night.  Solid turnout at Trina's, too, where celebratory sausages were consumed.
