FHL General Information |
|
The Ford Hockey League (FHL) is a member of the Ford Employee Recreation Association.
The Club's primary activity is the Ford Hockey League which is an organized adult ice hockey league which plays at the Allen Park Ice Arena.
The FHL plays the no-check format but slapshots are allowed. The referees are sanctioned by the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA). New teams are re-selected each year by a draft. There are currently 12 teams in the league. Each team consists of 10 players and 1 goalie. The league has a 23 game regular season (one game per week) with playoffs following. The total cost for the league for 2023-2024 was $480 for players and $275 for goalies, which includes jerseys (to use for the season,) playoff champion trophies and some supplies (pucks) for games. Players are also required to obtain USA Hockey Registration for the current season. |
|
Registration for each season begins in July/August. Due to the overwhelming popularity of the league only a few players are added to the league from the waiting list to fill open spots. If you are NOT on the waiting list, and would like to be, please enter your information into our Join League page. New skaters from the wait list are invited to a yearly "rate skate" prior to each season. Players are added into the league to fill vacancies based on the ratings needed to maintain league average - with priority given to Ford employees or suppliers. The current jersey provider for the FHL is Soar Sports Apparel. |
