SuperChiefs Game Write Up:

Unfortunately had to miss this game but from what I saw and heard we weren't at our best and the Aerostars took full advantage. Gotta be better next week against the Thunderbolts. Thank you to Middleton and Margitan for subbing in.

Aerostars Game Write Up:

Aerostars roll into week 22 off our 3rd bye of the season.  When last we saw the vans, we got a much needed victory against the Mariners.  This week we close out playing every team twice with our second tilt against the 1st place Superchiefs. Last time we met we handed the Superchiefs their most lopsided loss of the year (5-2) so we knew they would be hungry to rectify the loss. 

First 8 minutes played very tight with no one finding the back of the net.  Vans rep had to break out some of his elite goaltending skills to make a save on Gorski in the slot. Not the person you want to see shooting on you.... I saw my life flash before my eyes. Late in the first, I take a deflection off a stick into the chest (there is a trend here with pucks hitting me...more on that) and like a futbol star control it and find Easton streaking down the ice for a breakaway goal.  Beginning of the 2nd Chiefs apply some pressure down in our zone and Bryans throws a back hander from the corner out front.  It hits my thigh pad, knuckles in the air, and falls behind sub goalie Grashik.  Weird stat line of the day, 2as, 1 save and 1 own goal, just needed the penalty.  From then on it was the Chet show, he tallies 4 to the Chiefs 1 and we close the game out 5-2. We did stack up a line with Chet, Easton, and sub Bradybaugh, so they were buzzing all game, thought they could have had a few more.  

Other odd stat of the game Phil "Coach" Rea went offsides for the first time (he claims) in 10 years.  He questioned the ref's call pointing to himself as if to say....ME? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?  I DON'T EVER GO OFFSIDES.  GET YOUR EYES CHECKED REF!! (i kid...like 80% of this is true).  

Big win for the boys.  Little momentum as we move toward the playoffs.  One last position week match up with the Fiestas that will ironically do nothing for our position as we are firmly locked into the 8 slot. Good turn out at the bar as we wish Caig and his wife well on their relocation to Ohio.
