A highly anticipated matchup between the Marauders and Cobras. Both teams coming in as drafted! We start the night on a massacred sheet of ice. The high school boys tore it up before the 1^st FHL game of the night and unfortunately, we did not get a resurface after game 1. I don’t know how much a resurface would have helped the potholes out there, but AP seems to be very strict about the ‘Hard stop policy’ - no players on the ice when the Zamboni is out. Maybe they should put some signs up ..

Regardless of ice quality, this game started with a fast pace. Rauds strike early but that doesn’t slow us down. Durst picks up a lose puck in the slot and rips one top left to tie it up. Shortly after, Pink goes end to end and puts us up by 1. We end the first tied up 2-2.

The 2^nd period is similar to the 1^st. Back and forth with great chances coming from both ends. Cannon makes multiple odd man rush saves! Down 4-3 late in the period we were able to tie the game with just under a minute to go with some great puck movement on the powerplay.

We play the entire 3^rd dead locked at 4. Rauds take a penalty in the last minute of the game and the red hot Cobes powerplay gets back to work. Deroche finds me in the slot and Grashik slams the door with a big pad save. Fortunately, I was first to the rebound and buried the 2^nd chance for the go ahead goal with 7 seconds left.

Hard fought game from start to finish, looking to take the momentum into next week when we face the Galaxies!
