Week 8 Thursday Night Hockey in the FHL, and the Raud Squad is up against the red hot Edsels. Coming off a two-game winning streak and the return of the Savior. We knew they were going to be ready. To prepare, the Rep’s first mate (Spazzy Bazzy) came up with a lineup adjustment that should offer us more offense, which is where we usually struggle.
The adjustment wouldn’t disappoint as the Marauders put up 4 in the first and wouldn’t look back. Not much to write about this one as it was over early. Rookie Phenom Pearson put up 5 goals and 2 assists. He had a point on every goal. Now that he is a 4.5, he must have felt there was no need to continue sandbagging. “Taz” had a really nice tip-in goal in front of the net. Timmy had a breakout night with a goal and 2 assists. He also had a breakout night at Trina’s (more to come on that). “Spazzy” and “Jack of all trades” both chipped in with a pair of playmakers. The Edsels had no answers for the “Spurlin Wall.” Caldwell was Cald”wall”. Everybody of the team had a great game and contributed in some way. Huge thanks to Max and Blair for subbing.
Three quick notes:
1. Pearson gets POG. 5 goals 2 assists. No real controversy there.
2. Outright first place for the time being. Off on a bye next week.
3. The FHL should consider having more Thursday night games. Trina’s karaoke night was an absolute blast. Best bar night of the year so far and a great showing from the entire league.
