The Galaxies' resident Dickie Dunn has a lot of strands in his head this week due to impending work deadlines, so, despite duly delegating the responsibilty at the season's outset, the rep is forced to step up and say something about this week's game.  Here goes nothing...

WE'RE LOSING!  THEY'RE BURYING US ALIVE!  WE'RE BLOWING IT!

That's what the first 7 1/2 minutes of the game felt like, anyway.  On the rare occasion that the Galaxies got it out of the zone, we couldn't get it over center ice.  Fortunately, Gadulka, filling in for Sale who was rocking lederhosen for beerfest this week, kept us in the game.  But when we finally got our first scoring chance, Konstantino buried it to give us the unlikely lead late in the 1st.  Things evened out from there and the teams traded a couple goals each in the 2nd to put the Galaxies up 1 going into the 3rd.  That lead did not hold up, though, as La Fiesta scored a shorty about halfway through the period on a laser from the super sub rookie Pearson to tie it up, and then finished breaking the Galaxies' collective corazon with a last second goal.

And with that, we're officially on a losing streak.  Also, we've had a piss-poor (i.e. nonexistent) showing at the bar.  Looking to rectify both next Tuesday night!

Wow, what another great battle by the Fiesta to continue the undefeated streak. We came out missing Gorski, Barta, and Poodle but just like game 1 our subs were ready to play. Having McKenzie for Gorski and Pearson for Barta worked for us and we put on the pressure from the start of the game. 

First period would see the Fiesta get many opportunities with Gadulka shutting the door. We couldn't seem to figure him out and the Galaxies managed to get one by Caldwell with about 2:30 left in the period. 

Second period would see a pair of goals from both teams. Mckenzie gets the Fiesta on the board after walking in from the blue line and putting one past Chris. Petro would follow that up seconds later by a no angle shot from the side of the net. Not a team to quit, the Galaxies responded in 13 seconds to tie the game at 2, then just a minute later would go up 3-2. 

There was a confidence going into the third that we were going to make the most of our chances and capitalize on the opportunities. Hinkle executes a textbook body check and gets 2 minutes, but that was just what was needed. The Fiesta score on the penalty kill by a top shelf clapper from Pearson. 3-3 tie game. By now we're starting to get in a good rhythm and sustain pressure trying to get that GW. It would take 29 minutes and 59 seconds for Mckenzie to get a puck on the point and walk in for a short side gino. 4-3 Fiesta. 

Excellent game by Caldwell as he provided us the opportunity to dig ourselves out of a hole and come away with a win. Big thanks to the subs for helping us pull that one out. Looking forward to trying to keep this undefeated streak alive next week against the Edsels.
