What. a. game. 

That was a constant back and forth battle between the Mavericks and Fiesta. Both Caldwell and Russ played outstanding in net and made it entertaining. The Mavericks started off quickly with a goal in the first shift, less than a minute into the game. No sweat for the Fiesta, as we stay the course and continue to play like we've been the first 2 weeks. 

Start of the second, Mavericks strike again early into the start of the period. By now the Fiesta have had multiple chances to even things up, but Russ came up big and made some saves worthy of a live barn review. Going down 2-0 didn't slow us down though and Gorski gets us on the board with a nice individual effort with Lauth not too far behind burying a breakway to tie it up at 2 a piece.

Third period really started to tilt in our favor with another goal by Gorski seconds into the last 10 minutes. Not too long after We were able to put 3 by Russ in 3 minutes to really put the nail in the coffin.

Bigger story of the third period is the knee-to-knee contact by the Mavericks on Gorski. You can see the knee extension as he tries to go by. I'm honestly suprised only a slash occured afterwards from Gorski. Scan the QR code to view the GIF.

Mavericks come out strong and get up to an early lead in the 1st.

Mavericks pop another in and sustain a 2-0 lead until the 2nd period.

Overall outstanding performance by Mavs goalie Russ - making some big saves throughout the game.  Unfortunately, Fiesta hangs in there and ends up finishing with the lead.
