Broncos coming off their week 1 victory step up against McCaig fresh off a vacation. I undfortunately had to miss this game so thanks to Lefevre and Easton subbing in for myself and Middleton.
I missed the first period but coming in I saw we were down 2-1 after 1. Second period was evenly matched and Broncos end up tieing it up with great hustle from Tom and a nice dish to rookie Nico Deluca who buried it! After that, Fiesta were relentless in the offensive zone going up 5-2 with a PPG in there. Broncos never gave up and got one more before the buzzer to make it 5-3.
From what I saw, it was a good game. Papa Caldwell made some great saves and so did Zach. Fiesta move the puck well and bury their chances. Great game but on to next week vs the other Paisan and the Aerostars.
On another note, it was another great showing at the bar by the Broncos! Trying to maintain the bar set by Rep Kluegel!

After missing the first week of the FHL season, it felt good to get back to it against the Broncos for week two.
The Fiesta opened the scoring 31 seconds into the game on a shot from Gorski. Finding the net early set a great pace for us. First shift had some puck movement, great scoring chances, and just a good feel. After changing lines seeing Harris, Robillard, and Barta fly around I knew this team is going to be a contender.
About 1:30 after the first goal, sub Lauth fires a knucklepuck from the blueline and finds the back of the net. The Fiesta continue to pepper the Broncos, but the Broncos manage to get on the board haflway through the period.
Second period opens up the way the first ended, with a goal from the Broncos a couple minutes in. Not being content with a tie game, the Fiesta go on to score the next 3 with a goal by Barta, powerplay goal from Gorski, and a slapshot from Mccaig. The Broncos manage to get in another with about 2 minutes left in the game and it would be the last action for tonight. Caldwell played outstanding and the only goals we conceded were due to some errors leading to oddman rushes (two from me alone). Looking forward to taking on the Mavericks next week.
