Bullitts Game Write Up:

A new season, a new team, a new rep.  Everyone seemed to be happy to be back.  Unfortunately, we had a few guys who couldn't make it to the first game.  Big thanks to Bazzy, Suave, and DTV for subbing for us.

It was a pretty fast game for the first game of the season, with both teams skating fast and getting chances.  Both goalies played very well, and game was scoreless until Dimarco for the Mavericks got a nice tip in front of DeMars to take the lead late in the first period.

We take a much-needed rest between periods, and come out skating hard to try and tie it up.  Russ played a great game in goal for the Mavericks.  It took half of the second period, and a really pretty back and forth play between Aco and our sub Bazzy to tie it up.

It didn't last too long, though, because the Mavericks go back up a goal just a few minutes later.  But we don't let it get us down, and new rep, Jay Adams (me), get a rebound to go in by making a nuisance of myself in front of the goal.

But damn it, the Mavericks won't go away and go up a goal AGAIN just a minute and a half later, and we go to the break down again.

The pressure is on in the third period, and the Bullitts, and rookie to the league Terry Johnson bounced a puck off his head from Dustin Jones and it goes in to tie it up!

Tied up in the 3rd period, both teams played some hard hockey.  And with 4 minutes left in the game, the Mavericks are able to go up a goal again, and this time they held on to it.  They added an empty netter that DeMars made sure to remind me not to put that into his goals against, and the first game of the new Bullitts team and rep is in the past.

Great vibe in the lockerroom, besides the loss.  This Bullitts team has some chemistry and are looking forward to a fun season!

We'll go for that first win next week against the Galaxies.
